Jennifer Lopez has officially signed on for the next season of American Idol.
Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe broke the news on host Ryan Seacrest’s radio show today, ending weeks of speculation over the songstress’ return.
The only female judge on the panel was originally reported to be undecided about whether to return for Season 11 of the hit talent show, but the deal has now been signed.
“I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of American Idol are back for the next season,” Nigel confirmed.
She will join the other returnee judges Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson. The stars will continue the chemistry they built last season when they first worked together as a threesome.
Jennifer reportedly got a huge pay rise to return and her last year’s salary of $12 million was increased to $20 million.
The show is currently in the audition stage for the next season and will begin airing on Fox in the US in January 2012.
The 42-year-old mother of twins Max and Emme, three, announced her separation last month from husband Marc Anthony after seven years of marriage.
The Latin singer appeared many times on last season’s show and even performed on one episode where Jennifer served as his backup dancer.
